#BlackGirlMagic: The Complexity of Your Spell
A one-night event at The National Black Theater in Harlem directed by Candis Jones. The evening consisted of a performance featuring various stories written and performed by black women about the beauty and hardships of being a black woman in America while also exploring all the ways in which that complexity can be magical.
"Folk-Tales: What Stories Do Your Folks Tell?"
An evening of story-telling featuring stories from various writers about tales that have been passed down from generations and/or instances they personally experienced. All of these stories were directly related to the culture and family structure of the writer. "Folk-Tales" was first presented in October of 2016 at The Alchemical Laboratory Theatre. Directed by Shariffa Ali.
"Invisible Crowns"
A solo performance piece exploring the multi-faceted ways in which young women come into their own and discover identity with the help of those who have come before them.
